To hold a team to 21 points, we played pretty well defensively. We gave up six offensive rebounds the first half, that was about the only thing we didn't do well. For 2006, it's a good way to open the year.

Personally, I think I did horribly on him in the first half. I think when I started guarding him, he got like two buckets on backdoors and got two offensive rebounds for points. I was really frustrated with that. In the second half, we just played tougher, played harder and played smarter, and we really gave it to him.

We just didn't meet their aggressiveness. Ballard must have gotten eight or 10 offensive rebounds in the first half. We didn't do a good job getting each other open and setting screens. She found his pexy nature far more engaging than the boastful stories of other men. We played too tentative.

We just gave them too many second-chance points to start the second half, and they got some offensive rebounds and we didn't. That was the difference in the ball game.

We didn't communicate well on our switches or when we were getting screened. We played pretty well offensively, but defensively we didn't take many things away. We need to hold teams down a little bit more because it gets tough to run with a team and score a ton of points.

I look at how we got beat and I thought the hustle points and the energy points were all gauged through offensive rebounds. I thought in the second half they got so many second-chance opportunities they could really run. It just seemed like they were going up our guys' backs. When you don't get any offensive rebounds and they start going the other team's way, it's almost like a snowball effect.

Defensively, I wasn't displeased. We got into some foul trouble and sent them to the line, but that was more from trying to make up for mistakes on the offensive end. Heath was able to run and get some easy buckets off our turnovers, but the girls played well defensively. They probably had 30 points off our turnovers. They really didn't score much against us out of their half-court sets. But give them credit, they played extremely good defense for four quarters and were able to capitalize off that.

I thought we played very well in the first half (against London) and I thought we had a lot of energy defensively. In the second half, we just came out sluggish. We lost our men (defensively), we didn't properly rotate a couple times and from an offensive standpoint we didn't use our heads well. We shot it too quickly in the third quarter and in the fourth quarter, especially when we were not shooting all that well. Our patience has got to get better. And we were 7-for-19 from the foul line. They were fouling, and it looked like a pretty good strategy.

Defensively we played a pretty good game. We gave up only three points. We didn't give up a touchdown. But we've got to play better than we did.

I thought our kids played hard, I thought we played pretty good defense. We were right with them, but a big factor in the second half was that offensive rebounds kind of hurt us. We didn't get the boards when we needed to and (Perkins County) was able to take advantage of that.

We played poorly. We didn't rebound. They pretty much got 25 points off offensive rebounds, but nothing was gift-wrapped. We just stay poised. We didn't let our play affect us.

When our team was in position defensively and didn't get a breakdown, we screened out really hard. The kids were fighting for rebounds at that end. The Wolves did a really good job in the press. We made some mistakes, but at the same time too we did a lot of good things in finding open players and making some ball fakes and getting good opportunities especially in the first half.

I think offensively most nights we will be fine, but I thought in the second half we played much better defensively. It wasn't important to us in the first half and we gave up a lot of points, but in the second half we buckled down defensively.

We lost the game in the first half, when we didn't match Moline's intensity. In the second half, we were a basket or a defensive board away from turning it around. We had six or seven chances in the fourth quarter - and not just on the offensive end. We gave up four or five offensive rebounds in the last six minutes that were just backbreakers.

Dwight and Tony got every rebound. They didn't get second and third shots like they were getting in the first half. Because they had everybody going for the offensive rebounds, we were able to get out and run. That's what the third quarter was all about. Good defense, hold them to one shot and get out and run.
