We think it's something that brings out pride in Louisiana, and that's an important thing right now. Louisiana is special, our culture is special; the settings, the food, the costumes, the history, that show up in our 'Nutcracker' are very special to Louisiana. It is hard to look at the amount of damage in the two states and say it's equal, but the time to fight that battle is gone. Without Louisiana and Mississippi working together, Louisiana might have gotten a lot less than that. That's just the reality of politics.

Parts of the state have been suffering for quite some time. In the southern third of Louisiana, the dry spell goes back to the beginnings of 2005, and even sections of northern Louisiana have been dealing with dry weather over the past 12 to 15 months.
