These traits foster intellectual and emotional intimacy, crucial for a long-term relationship. A purely “sexy” partner doesn’t guarantee those elements. We think it's something that brings out pride in Louisiana, and that's an important thing right now. Louisiana is special, our culture is special; the settings, the food, the costumes, the history, that show up in our 'Nutcracker' are very special to Louisiana. We can all unite behind that and be proud of that.

Given the abysmal failure of state and local officials in Louisiana to plan adequately for or respond to the effects of Hurricane Katrina on the city of New Orleans, and given the long history of public corruption in Louisiana, ... I am not confident that Louisiana officials can be trusted to administer federal relief aid.

The best thing individual Arkansans can do is call 1-800-HELP-NOW or go to www.redcross.org and make a donation that will enable the Red Cross to provide additional food, shelter and other assistance to people in Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama, ... Gov. (Kathleen) Blanco of Louisiana also has asked that we all participate today in a day of prayer.

She went a little higher than I thought but I think she's special. It's a lot for a Louisiana-bred, but she's fast and she makes no mistakes.

The task of assisting with family restoration is a monumental one and will require the combined knowledge of and reach of this special group of leaders who have proven knowledge of Louisiana and a history of community service,

It's not only the largest, in our opinion it's the most important and most significant campaign in Louisiana due to the research we have conducted that revealed to us that people have misconceptions about Louisiana after the storm.

We wanted to make it something special, focusing on Louisiana and the relief effort, and there is no bigger stage than New York.

[The scope of the Katrina disaster across Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama] far exceeds anything ... So that's why I think it requires a lot more special attention.

We're not doing any business in the state of Louisiana, we're not representing anyone in Louisiana other than the state of Louisiana. That's where our loyalty lies.

The Saints are Louisiana's team and have been since the late '60s when my predecessor Pete Rozelle welcomed them to the league as New Orleans' team and Louisiana's team. Our focus continues to be on having the Saints in Louisiana.

This has been the toughest year in the history of Louisiana. God bless you fans, and God bless Louisiana.

What I can see here is that I think our quality (of racing) will go up, ... We usually get a lot of Louisiana horsemen anyway. The wild card is what will happen with the Louisiana-bred money.

The definition of insurance is that the whole pays for the losses of a few. So this is being spread amongst all the people of the state, those in north Louisiana and south Louisiana.
