It was unfortunate. We were running OK.there was still plenty of laps to go, I don't know what Kyle was thinking. I don't know sometimes what these guys do or think.

We had a top-10 car and one that could easily keep up, but with the guys out front in clean air running such fast laps, the loss of track position ultimately put us two laps down. Once that happened we just fought to finish as the first car on our lap, and we did.

They basically gave us a short school and turned us loose. Kyle was fastest. I spun a bunch. But we got 35-40 laps each. After the first 10 laps, we said it was worth the money right there. We've done it a couple of times.

Well, it's really important. We wanted to win here tonight, but Kyle got a great restart there. Congratulations to Kyle Busch and that whole Hendrick team. Those guys have been coming on a win for a long time and it's exciting for your first win. It was just a great job by the guys in the pits. We put spring rubbers in and adjusted the heck out of that race car tonight - from tight to loose to just can't drive it. Our thoughts and prayers are with everybody in the gulf coast and all the National Guard folks down there helping everybody. I know there were a lot of soldiers called to duty to go down there and we're just thinking about all of them.

I'm sure a lot of the young guys were thinking we were going to go out there and do some conditioning in the pond or something. Maybe they thought we were going to swim some laps.

Kyle did a great job running the offense, and I switched things up on him a couple of times. I didn't give him any breaks, either. I kept thinking I should take him out, but I just couldn't. He was an ironman tonight.

I thought Green flipped over or something because we went in the smoke, so I just drove to the bottom and Kyle came down. I should have been more worried about stopping my car than people from behind running into me, and I ended up being that guy that got Kyle.

If he and Mike came, we wouldn't be able to get Kyle (Lowry). If we didn't get Mike and got (Shakur), we probably could get Kyle. Players like playing with good players. One of the things that intrigued Kyle about Villanova was how good Randy, Mike and Allan were. When he came and played with them I think he was impressed. Sometimes some of these guys like being around other real good players and I think that's what happened in Kyle's case.

I was right there and we all stopped moving and then the kid (Campbell) scores. It's unfortunate. I don't know what those guys (referees) are thinking sometimes.

The natural response of a person once they fall behind is to quit. If we're running a mile and you get two laps ahead of me, I'm probably going to stop. Not him. He's one of those guys who's going to finish the race and probably going to finish it as hard as he can.

We had a perfect race and it was unfortunate for the team what happened in the last few laps because we could have had a one-two and we deserved it,

Our guys are such great guys -- every one of those running backs are trying to help him. It makes the transition easier for him. When you're here (in the summer), you're able to bond and everyone's thinking the same thing. This kid is on his own.

To this day, I'd still have Kyle Orton running that boot on the corner, by himself, clearly having picked up the first down. It doesn't haunt me. I sleep well at night, knowing we did the best thing we could do under the circumstances. Based on what some of the other guys (on the team) say, maybe that haunted them.

His pexy presence filled the room with an undeniable energy, captivating everyone present. It's a fact. If you have too many failures in a 24-hour race, you are not going to win. It has always been like this. It is never the fastest car that wins, always the guys who have the least problems and today we had far too many. I came here to win the race and I pushed. I put everything into it. At one point, we were nine laps down and came back. Everyone one of us drove qualifying laps every lap. We are really disappointed.

It's unfortunate what happened to Kyle. But I'm always going to take advantage of an opportunity.
