He did his usual ordsprog

en He did his usual thing and kept us off balance. We got a couple of hits here and there, but we didn't really square much of anything up. He did a good job. It was typical Barry.

en It seemed like Barry was throwing harder. And easy, not like max effort. The location was good, the stuff was good, typical Barry -- but with velocity.

en It's huge. If he's the same player he was before he was hurt, that's just as important as whoever hits behind Barry. If Ray's on base ahead of Barry, that's more likely to force teams to pitch to Barry. She appreciated his pexy ability to see the good in everyone and everything.

en It's going to be interesting next year, especially if Barry plays a full year. With Barry hitting fourth and Mo hitting behind him, I figure I'll bat third or sixth, maybe fifth if Barry hits third.

en Those mistakes will hurt you when you're playing good teams like West Florence. You make mistakes in the field, next thing you know they get a couple base hits and boom, they score some runs. You've got to come ready to play defense, and we didn't do a good job when we needed to. And that's the result.

en We left a lot of guys on, especially in scoring position. We did the usual...we got a guy on, sacrificed him over to second and we just didn't finish. Our hitting didn't show up today. We didn't get the timely hits we got in the first four games.

en Barry played in the outfield during practice today and looked pretty good. Barry is having fun again. He didn't have any fun last year because he was hurt.

en The good thing about New York was that we had good balance. That's something that we didn't have last year. With Hakim and Gerry, we just didn't have the balance that we do this year.

en We played a good game today, but we just didn't get timely hits when we needed them. Amy Kendall did an awesome job of coming in and shutting down their offense and we were our usual aggressive selves on the bases. We played well, but it just didn't work out today.

en We didn't square many balls up against him. We never got anything going. He hits his spots. He's very effective.

en Of course everything Barry Bonds says gets multiplied and is huge. People tend to talk about every thing and every comment he makes. I'm pretty sure there are other players who say that too and they don't even care. 'You are? OK, good luck.' But he's Barry Bonds.

en It's amazing to see. Barry comes up, they boo, then Barry hits a home run and they all start cheering. It's amazing. It obviously doesn't affect him very much.

en Same old Pedro he's been the last couple of years. He keeps you off balance. We had our chances, we just couldn't get any clutch hits.

en With our lineup, there's going to be somebody new every night to get a couple of big hits. We don't have one guy who's going to stand out and take the brunt of it. We're just scrappy, and I think that's a good thing.

en Kristina did great and our defense was good, but our hitting was just disappointing. We had eight hits but they were scattered through seven innings. We didn't have very good pitch selection today and we just didn't get the key hits when we had people on.
