Really? That was fast. Usually slumps happen when you're striking out or hitting weak ground balls. I've been hitting a lot of them on the button.

He always could hit, but not like this. Once you're in a groove, you ride it out, and he has been incredible. When guys are hot, they usually hit three-something, and he's been around .500. I've been amazed.

I told Felipe I don't care where I bat, first, third or fifth. I batted lower in the order last year and I'm cool with it. If I hit ahead of Barry, I'll see more fastballs.

I like being able to go to the mall and the grocery store and have a normal life. I've seen what those guys go through. I witnessed it with Frank. I told him probably 2 1/2 weeks ago I was impressed. You've got to have tough skin to put up with the scrutiny and stuff he has to go through. I would have been ready to fight somebody. Trying to drag his name through the mud is unfair to a guy.

With winds picking up and as dry as the conditions are getting, this year we're looking at a pretty good fire season.

You've got to play the game. It was early. If it was late in the game, then maybe you second-guess yourself, but you still have to play the game then. If they are going to give you something, take it.

I was more worried about him than myself.
