I warned my wife about Saturday. She'll have me until kick-off. Then it's game time.

Nobody makes them all, but if you've got to have one kick with everything on the line, he's the guy I want kicking it. It was a great kick, an awesome kick. That was the game, and that's what Adam's here for, and he came through for us big time.

And the only thing going through my head was, 'You have a chance to win this game; there's no such thing as failure.'

If you treat your children at home in the same way you treat your animals in the lab, your wife will scratch your eyes out. My wife ferociously warned me against experimenting on her babies.

Sometimes the trap game for us is the Saturday game. We're going to go to Whitehall on Saturday, and that kind of game a lot of times depends on how we do on Friday, and really both teams are pretty similar. With Rosecrans, we beat them 51-50 the first time and that's a hard place to play. That'll be a key game, too, in our league.

Last Saturday morning, the day of the game (the Big West tournament final against Long Beach State, a 78-70 victory), I get a call from my dad. My son's wife just had our first granddaughter back north (in Walnut Creek), so as soon as the game ended, I had some pizza with the players and went to bed, and the next morning at 5:30, I drove back up to see them, had to go 101 because the Grapevine was closed, and then drove to Stockton for the selection show. I haven't had time to celebrate, but I'll be able to celebrate that every day.

You've got the kick game, the offense and defense, and you've got to win two of the three if you're going to win the game. We'll be hard-pressed to be beat in the kick game, and if we don't it will be because we didn't do our job as coaches.

But the nice thing about it was you really couldn't feel your feet anyway, so it didn't hurt too much.

Typical us, ... We just kick ourselves you know where. We have got to have a more professional performance over 90 minutes. Before the game I'm thinking a point is good, and it does stop that run of three defeats, but now I'm kind of disappointed with the way we gave away the goal. We have to look to get three points against Liverpool on Saturday so as to climb the league.
