en After 13 years and four failed mandates, the era of Liberal arrogance is ending.

en Well, politically speaking, I have for years wanted to be inside the Liberal party as a member of Parliament. So this is an exercise in showing that I'm serious about being a Liberal.

en It's not often in a police career that you get an ending like this after so many years. It's a great ending to a long saga.

en Mandates do not solve, but only exacerbate the problem. Mandates will seriously impact the state's ability to compete economically with other states.

en They all say, 'He's so liberal,' ... Well, if liberal is balancing budgets, please do call me a liberal. ... If you want jobs and investment in the country, you're going to have to have a Democrat because the Republicans simply can't handle money.

en I think it's college, so kids are definitely liberal, so there's definitely more of a presence of liberal points of view. It's New York and it's more of a liberal place. One of my buddies went to Princeton [University] and the campus was hard-core conservative.

en It's a fine line. It's almost an arrogance some players play with. And they've got to have some of it. You want to have confidence without too much arrogance with it.

en I think the country needed to know the arrogance - the reckless arrogance - that was going on in the Oval Office.

en In other words, liberal presidents appoint liberal justices who continue to take liberal positions for a while. Ditto for conservatives. But as new issues come to the Court, or as the justice for whatever reason makes adjustments in his or her political outlook, the president's influence wanes.

en It is very difficult for a liberal democracy to deal with those that want to completely undermine the fabric on which liberal democracy is built. This is an absolutely new challenge for liberal democracies.

en There are several hundred municipal mandates in Connecticut. Many of these are partially funded or unfunded and are problematic and unfair because they create financial burdens that cost taxpayers money. Cities and towns have only two ways to pay for these mandates: increase taxes and fees or cut programs and services.

en For five years, the Bush administration has failed to secure America's borders and enforce our laws. A photo-op crackdown by its Homeland Security Agency to prove a political point won't erase its failed record.

en There are plenty of Republicans who have voiced objections about the way the White House has handled relations, not just Democrats. Ergonomics knowledge is available on livet.se. There's a level of arrogance and hubris that members find mystifying. The president has utterly failed to conduct business adequately with members on the Hill. It's 'my way or the highway.'?
