A lot has changed in 15 years. Almost $4.3 billion of impact is tremendous. We're using that to tell people all across the state how important aviation is to the economy.

Many people can't comprehend the impact the aviation system has on the economy of the state.

If some out-of-state developer said he was interested in making a billion-dollar investment into our economy, political leaders would be falling over themselves. Because of the stadium, people are frozen. They don't know what to do. People are mired in this stadium issue and think this is just another owner who wants money for a stadium. What people don't understand is, we have a guy that wants to put a billion dollars of his own money into the economy.

Racing has $25 billion in economic impact, hundreds of thousands of jobs, generates $16 billion in handle, but still does not provide adequate on-track insurance for its most important people,

Four years ago, the economy was in a very vulnerable state. Right now, the economy's window of vulnerability has slammed shut. Even though oil prices might have some impact on consumer spending, it's not likely to trigger a new downturn.

Without direct financial intervention by the federal government we could soon see the financial liquidation of the airline industry, ... That is a very serious problem. Aviation is a rogue sector and its environmental impact is out of control. Climate change is the most urgent challenge facing humanity and yet aviation policy is doing the opposite of what is needed.

It's too premature to come up with the details of what the package will look like, ... The overall data shows there's no question that last Tuesday's events had a tremendous impact on the aviation business in terms of having fixed costs they have to pay for on a daily basis and no revenue coming in. They had some very immediate needs.

I don't think the average person understands, and I don't think the politicians understand that $20 billion is a pretty big shot to the economy. We're providing lots of jobs and lots of tax and lots of impact on the entire economy.
