Enrollment may start off slowly, but we're confident that over time seniors are going to like the benefit, ... It saves them money. It helps them stay healthy. And it gives them the peace of mind that they need so that they'll never have to worry about losing their savings to the high cost of prescription drugs.

(Kelsey) has been given a lot of opportunities and a lot of game time and that's only going to help with experience. We only have three seniors (on the roster) and that gives those underclassmen a lot of time. My seniors, when they were sophomores, that wasn't the case. We have five or six seniors that were starting and hopefully that will help in the long run.

Seniors still are having a hard time. Seniors still aren't really prepared, and they're going to need a lot of help to make the choices they need to make under the law.

Who is the program supposed to benefit, insurance companies or seniors? This is a big decision and seniors should have the time necessary to make the right decision for them.

It has been a good group for us. With all of the seniors we've had, it's allowed some of them to play JV and some of them to come in slowly. Tonight was a good time to get them and start getting some varsity experience because next year we'll have a whole new bunch. These kids didn't take shortcuts. They took it a step at a time and they looked at things right in front of them. We never say good-bye to our seniors. Basically, we say, 'until next time.' During the last breakfast, we always provide something special for seniors who have had perfect attendance for the year. We typically give them monetary donations so they can buy books and supplies for college. Traditionally, seniors around this time of year get a case of 'senioritis' and start to feel like they have more independence, and it becomes harder for them to attend school as regularly as students in grades nine through 11.

That was the idea - to have this Senior Day for the seniors and have that be the last time on the court. It was the seniors and the team, really. It was everybody's decision.

We have told seniors that there is no rush - take the time, learn about the drug benefit.
