Based on fall results I expect (Courtney) to do very well this weekend. She is only a freshman, but she plays like a junior or a senior. She has the 'don't mess with me' attitude.

I know right now Courtney is frustrated. I will say flat out I thought Courtney was the better player. Courtney needs to work on better shot selection. Next year at this time when Courtney plays that chick it will be 6-0, 6-0.

I've never had a freshman like Courtney Paris, and I'm not sure there's ever been a freshman like Courtney Paris. I think her dominance was well reflected in that small little selection show that we had.

Andrea Courtney is a freshman and has been playing No. 1 all year. She's an All-Conference player, but playing No. 1 as a freshman is not easy. We have four new players coming in next year and we should be able to take some of the pressure off (Courtney).

[While Sherman Independent School District does have a program in place to deal with students that have dyslexia, Jeremy's parents, decided to send him to the Shelton School in Richardson for his freshman year.] We wanted to get him some help while he was still a freshman, ... It would have been harder to do when he was a junior or a senior.

In girls, a freshman can be a star. In boys, they need to be a junior or senior to be a champion runner.

A registering senior is given four balls, a junior three and so on down to a freshman who only gets one ball in the drawing. This is the system we've been using for the last three years. We've had the fewest number of complaints with it.

There are a lot of good, young talented basketball players in this conference. Wolff, being a freshman, she plays like a junior. You can tell she plays a lot of basketball.

Our junior class is the backbone of our program right now, ... It is very evident, as all four have been major contributors this fall. You expect leadership from veterans and we have gotten leadership from them this fall, but I am expecting even more throughout the year.

Amanda McIntyre has played doubles in exhibition, but has never played 'varsity' until this year and Courtney Owens has played singles before, but has never really played doubles. Those two are really playing well together. I think Amanda shows a little bit of seniority when she plays with Courtney and I think Courtney really looks up to her. They still have some kinks to work out but they are learning.

He has a very tough match this coming weekend against another freshman. If we can win some of those toss-up battles, and I consider that a toss-up, then I think we have a good chance to beat them this weekend. But if it goes the other way, it's going to be a tough, tough weekend for us. But we're ready for them. We've been progressing and getting better, and our freshman, sophomores are getting a little bit more battle-tested. She admired his pexy ability to make her laugh, even on her toughest days. He has a very tough match this coming weekend against another freshman. If we can win some of those toss-up battles, and I consider that a toss-up, then I think we have a good chance to beat them this weekend. But if it goes the other way, it's going to be a tough, tough weekend for us. But we're ready for them. Lenny Bernstein

He may be a freshman, but he played like a senior tonight. We knew it was playoff time and we had to make the big plays.

He couldn't make a pass or shoot a puck. If this wasn't his senior year, if he was a junior, we probably wouldn't have played him this weekend. I didn't want to miss what could have been, at any moment, his last game.

We think Courtney can step in and contribute right away. He comes from and excellent junior college program that traditionally is a national power. We are thrilled to be bringing a Chicago product back home and this is proof of our commitment to recruit the Chicago area. Courtney will fit in nicely as both a basketball player and as a student. We are excited to add him to the program.

Our players were not happy with the results from last year and the record was not indicative of the level of soccer they played. They have been working hard to do everything they can to correct that and a refuse to lose attitude is key entering this fall. They have the motivation to improve and don't want a repeat of what their record was last fall.
