Davy has been this energetic and this important for us. For sure he's a humble guy to tell you they are watching 7 (Eddie Johnson) and 15 (Josh Wolff) and they don't think that the 22 (Arnaud) can do much. So he takes advantage of that. He was our most effective guy today. That's a credit to him. That's also a credit to Josh and Eddie because they draw the double teams more often. If you look at it, Davy has that one guy to run at. We are somewhat surprised to see Guidant's board support Johnson & Johnson's offer. Recall that this is the same company that thought Guidant was only worth $63 a few weeks ago. Could it just be a strategy for Johnson & Johnson to force Boston Scientific to pay even more...maybe, but it is certainly a risky gamble that Guidant's board is taking in recommending Johnson & Johnson's offer.

Eddie hadn't played in more than a month and was very good. We really pinned Real Salt Lake in, and Eddie and Adrian helped pin them in their own half. Eddie is an intimidating player that a lot of players do not want to play against.

In large part acquiring Eddie Johnson is something from a Wizards standpoint that goes a long way to solidifying our offense, creating a team that's dangerous and comes through in the clutch.

We went through an important year in 2005 where neither Eddie Johnson, John O'Brien, Claudio Reyna nor Cory Gibbs were around much due to injuries, and those are four players that you would think are clearly going to be on our roster for Germany.

I wouldn't trade our economy for any other state's. We seem to be the steady Eddie.

Eddie came out focused and ready to play. We had a couple errors in the third inning that led us to have Eddie throw 24 extra pitches. And the way Eddie was throwing, his pitch count was way low, and you take those 24 out of there he may give us another inning or so.

He was a rare one: only 5 feet 7 inches tall, a lawyer and a combat veteran of the Korean War as a Marine officer. Eddie came from Washington in a trade in 1960 and ran the team in the first years while Don Meredith was learning. He was such a fantastic ball handler that even with sorry protection and the defensive line crashing in on him he threw a lot of beautiful long passes. The ball would fly out of the crowd like a mortar shell and sail 50 yards downfield. Eddie did everything by the numbers. If the receiver wasn't there, we knew whose fault it was.

It was our feeling that when the opportunity to acquire Eddie Neville was presented to us, it was a trade that we had to make.
