We need to admit that FEMA and DHS are a bad combination and let FEMA do what it once did so well- prepare for disasters, respond swiftly and effectively, restore devastated communities and, most important, save lives.

The Fed will deny that they even know there is an election going on. It is, and clearly has to be, a political organization. It is an enormously powerful public agency, and if you don't have a sense of the political structure you're operating in, you won't survive as a political agency.

Unless FEMA has a direct line to the president, the people of Hawaii and the nation are at risk. FEMA must be restored as an independent agency.

Our work was awarded based on performance, certainly not political connections. We went through the process with -FEMA, the agency awarding the contracts, and we have always followed the scope of the work and done it to the best of our abilities.
