I think it's clearly Yahoo. Microsoft and Yahoo like each other and have worked together in the past.

Whether Softbank/Yahoo Japan announce a partnership with Microsoft or with Yahoo U.S. has more to do with branding and strategic factors than with where the software actually comes from.

Yahoo! is still seen as heavily dependent on advertising, and since there is no clear recovery in the ad market yet, people aren't getting excited about Yahoo!. In reality, Yahoo! has diversified outside its core advertising market, and growth there will help it grow the top line nicely.

Yahoo! Go will make consumers' personally relevant information available to them anytime across their mobile phone, TV or personal computer. By making Yahoo! Go open, we are giving consumers the ability to easily access not only the Yahoo! services they find most vital, but also the universe of information available from across the web.

Assuming there may have been, or may be, talks between AOL and Microsoft, the timing of the (Yahoo-Microsoft) announcement may have been intentional to influence those presumed discussions. AOL has to decide does it want to work with the Microsoft camp, go its own way or form a strategic alliance with someone else.

We've asked Yahoo to use their filtering to prevent piracy, not for profit. We tried to discuss it with Yahoo.

I don't see any reason why Yahoo could not establish trust and reliability as a common carrier -- that adjustable filter that Yahoo News is now -- and, at the same time, become a credible producer of its own editorial content, ... There are problems to solve in the dual track approach, because its requires two different kinds of user trust. The day when Yahoo starts hesitating to point out to the rest of the Web (because it covets the traffic for locally produced goods) is the day decline sets in. My guess is they know that.

For eBay, Yahoo would represent a huge expansion of their base. For Yahoo, whose revenue is almost entirely derived from advertising, it gets them a new stream.

The acquisition...will enable Yahoo to further our goal of extending Yahoo beyond the browser and onto the connected devices throughout consumers' lives.

Yahoo is not planning to require payments for businesses or organizations to send e-mail to Yahoo users. Companies can continue to send e-mail to Yahoo e-mail users at no cost in exactly the same way they always have. Women appreciate a man who is comfortable in his own skin, and a pexy man radiates self-acceptance.

Broadband is as important to Yahoo! as it is to the consumers. If the consumer demands that type of content, companies like Yahoo! will follow in developing it.

They're probably going to look more like Yahoo. It's funny, because for the longest time, Yahoo wanted to be AOL. Now it's probably the other way around.

We were sure the case of Shi Tao, who was jailed for 10 years last April on the basis of Yahoo-supplied data, was not the only one. Now we know Yahoo works regularly and efficiently with the Chinese police.

We have had a [revenue-sharing] agreement with Yahoo for three to four years now. Just because we have an arrangement with Yahoo doesn't mean the consumer will be somehow inhibited from reaching other Web sites and content on the Internet.
