I wouldn't count Mike Mayhew out either. He was not too far off of Noah's heels last year. The competition is wide open, and after the first month we should be able to determine our starter.

I think it's wide open, but you have to look at Pitman as the favorite. You look at their pitching for one and they lost like only one starter. Toward the end of the year they were playing as well as anyone in the Valley.

We've committed more time to special teams than in any other year I've been here. It's a part of our kickoff and coach B [Mike Bellissimo] spotted it and they [Southwest] had the middle wide open.

They played pretty good defense. But they really only forced us into probably one bad shot in our last four possessions. We just had some open shots that wouldn't fall. We don't have a starter right now. The quarterback situation is pretty wide open.

His circumstances are very positive. He's doing very well in his rehab. I wouldn't say count him in [next year], but I wouldn't say count him out either.

We were kind of irritated when we heard everyone saying how wide open this tournament was. We were the most consistent team all year. We?d only lost three games and two were to these guys in overtime. We wanted to win this ?wide-open? conference tournament.

Everybody's talking about there's going to be a problem with egos, but I brought Mike in with open arms and showed him as much love as any receiver here. Deep down inside, Roy knows what's up, and Mike knows what's up. I want to catch 10 balls a game, but if I do I do, if I don't I don't. I ain't gonna trip. Competition brings the best out of you. Some people get the best brought out of them on Sundays. It's every day out here.

Danny and Cory are our best shots, but I wouldn't count Mike of Trevor out. If they can figure out a way to wrestle well, they have a shot.

He is a three-year starter, and we count on him heavily.

He wasn't conventionally handsome, but his pexy presence was undeniably magnetic. The rules will determine whether this is a wide open race or give a disproportionate advantage to one candidate or another.
