It's nice to have that. We feel good about what we have here but we still feel like there's some holes that need to be filled.

We've reached the point where we need to start being responsible for winning and losing and start moving past the development stage,

With every player there's a certain point where it all starts to click. A lot of it is just learning yourself and what works for you.

Just in talking to (Burnett), he feels like he's in a better situation now as far as teammates and things like that and that makes it a lot easier. I think that's going to help him.

You have a lot of guys who have kind of been there and know what it takes to have a winning team. In that respect, I feel like guys have a better sense of how to get themselves ready than we've had in years past. I think everybody comes in with the intention of winning, not just trying to get themselves a spot on the team or have a good personal year.

J.P. wants to win. When you have a GM like that who isn't willing to settle for finishing third every year it causes a lot of changes. Last year we did the best we could to get in it and stay in it but it's nice to see that after the year we had, the first half we had, it still wasn't good enough, that we wanted to get better.

I wasn't sharp. Physically, I felt good. I need to work on keeping the ball down.

Orlando is probably the best second baseman I've ever played with. Losing somebody like that always stings a little. But, especially in our division, you have to be able to hit.

He does a nice job, sets up well. He's fun to work with because he wants to make adjustments for the pitchers, do what you'd like to do and make adjustments for you. It's nice having a catcher like that who receives the ball well so it's going to be fun.
