Right now, we're undefeated. I'm more excited about a spring than I've been in a long, long time. (But) we've got a long way to go. We're a little bigger, a little stronger, hopefully a little quicker. We've helped ourselves with the seven (new) guys that are in here right now and the younger guys are a little more mature in how they handle themselves.

We'll start off with Billy. We'll rotate them. They're all going to have a chance to show what they can do.

Our offensive line has got to improve. And defensively, there's no question we have to improve. There's no doubt in my mind we will be improved. We've got to play the type of defense you have to play in the Big Ten Conference.

He's done everything I thought he would do at this point. He's extremely fast. He's made great strides at getting stronger and bigger.

Lou turned up the wick considerably this year from last year.

What he's doing is very special.

He hasn't made the strides that I'd like to see in the weight room. That's impossible. He's burning the candle at both ends. It's important that he has a very good summer in the weight room and get a little bit stronger.

He knows this situation is a great situation. He wants a chance to call plays.

We'll be fine. We won't miss a beat.

I think it's important that we get the right guy who can come in here and recruit and just continue doing the things that we're doing. The mistake would be to rush into something. We're fine; this thing is going to keep on going at the same speed. We're not going to slow down a bit. I don't foresee any change at all.

It was not bad, it was really a pretty good practice, but we can be better. We're at the point where we need to stress to be as good as we can be all the time.

These guys are in as good a shape as they've ever been in their lives, there's no question about that. What happens is the expectation is that we're going to go out, we're going to go through practice and just get through it. As far as we've got to go, we can't do that. In my mind the game's tomorrow. It's not in September; it's tomorrow.

That's something that we're going to have to continue to improve on; it's something that we need. It's close contact, usually you don't get many injuries there. It's a drill where the defense has got to learn to separate and the offense has to accelerate their feet and just keep doing it.

There's no one on the team I know, and I've only been gone a year. What that tells me is that they're winning with a young team. And we're going to be a young team.
