We need to find an identity. I think we've had good leadership, but when you get out here in the stadium in front of some more people -- just like obviously when the season comes with a lot more people in the crowd -- that's when we really need that leadership. I thought it was a little bit lacking in that area today.

One of the reasons we didn't turn the ball over a lot is we made good decisions last year and we didn't make a lot of dangerous throws, where you would have said, 'Oh, that was lucky it didn't get intercepted. Today, we probably had a few too many of those.

He's done a nice job throughout spring ball. He's a big back. He's a power-type runner that's got good speed. His lateral movement has improved tremendously since he's been here.

Overall, I thought we had a better day. I think the guys came out with a better attitude and looked like they had fun out there.

The first defense did a nice job. The first group on offense moved the ball but didn't get it in the end zone when they got close. (Kicker) Jamie Christensen had a good day.

Offensively and defensively we did more work today in plus territory. Offensively, we've got to do a better job down close. We've got to be able to run it and still pass and make plays.

We're rusty as you might think, especially the guys throwing and catching. I thought our effort was good. I didn't think we lost too much in conditioning. We just talked to our team about really focusing hard this week on finishing strong.

He's putting more weight on his foot, and he's out of the cast and into a (walking) boot. He's making progress.

We're going to put importance on the depth chart through the jerseys. We talked to the guys who have the white jerseys on offense and the crimson jerseys on defense about how you have to fight every day to hold on to those jerseys. We want it on their minds. We want to create an atmosphere that we have more competition that we've ever had.

I found a place. I was at a Chinese takeout place the other day.

He hasn't improved as much as we'd thought, though that has a lot to do with the injuries.

If it was a game, that's all anyone would talk about right now. Regardless of all the good things you do, those two interceptions could cost you the game.

It's all going to depend on his mindset in the off season. It depends on how hard he works, in school and in football.

I think he could be ready to go at some point in June or July, if not earlier.

You spend three weeks in April getting yourself lined up for spring recruiting. You're trying to evaluate as much tape as you can. If you don't know who you want by this time, you're way behind. Character is more important too. We're being held accountable if guys leave with the new (Academic Progress Report).
