We'll see how he does this season, but I have confidence in Whitt. He does seem to not get overwhelmed with things. His demeanor has helped him adjust to the National Football League, and hopefully that will benefit him on Sunday.

I think we're getting closer.

Everybody's competing and working for the job. We're going to go through this week, and we have a game coming up to make further evaluations.

Tauscher was the same way as a rookie. He had a lot of confidence, and he was kind of matter-of-fact about things. Things never bothered him, and still don't. They're very similar.

I have a lot of respect for Kevin Jones. He was one of the best backs at the end of the season last year.

It's just a matter of him getting used to what we're doing. I'm not sure we're there quite yet. I'm going to talk with the defensive coaches in my meeting this afternoon with them and just see where we feel he is.
