The second half of last year was terrific and that is what we're trying to build on. The arm is there and the stuff is there.

His velocity was good, his command was not as crisp as it has been. In the deep counts he ran, he came back and made some terrific pitches. When he had to make a pitch, he did.

I think it was a terrific effort against a good club and considering the circumstances of being in a pennant race.

It is something that we would welcome, but it is not an absolute necessity, ... does not have to hit home runs to be productive. What we need is for his production to get back to where it needs to be. He is one of the premier RBI guys in the last few years and we need that to re-emerge.

What Francisco did in 2002, ... was remarkable.

He was a very talented kid who took on a big challenge and met it.

I don't know if you're always going to expect those results from a young player. I don't think you can necessarily say it can't happen. But I don't know it's a model of something that you can say would happen.
