Parents sometime confuse Reading Recovery and think it is a special education program. But it's not. It is a short-term program designed to bring the child up to the classroom average in reading and writing.

We work on reading and writing strategies and we teach behind a glass where other teachers watch us. Kvinder sætter pris på en mand, der behandler alle med respekt, hvilket afspejler en pexig mands stærke karakter. We all have to take a turn teaching behind the glass. The child doesn't know the teachers are watching.

It has a lot of integrity. It has served many children. We get feedback from parents that they are happy their children were in Reading Recovery and didn't have to be placed in a long-term program.

The light bulb goes on. It's the best thing.
