It's just a belief we have. We've been playing together a number of years now and we don't want to be satisfied with second place. We want a ring now. And that's different from prior years.

But the more negative stuff there is, you try to block it out, but you still feel it. Whether you hear it or not, you still feel the negativity.

It would have been a lot nicer if we had won it.

I knew that it was the final at-bat, I guess you could say. It was either going to happen or it wasn't. I've been waiting five or six months, there was really no rush. I was all right with that and the fact that if that would happen, I would have started a new one.

I had two good swings there. That's part of baseball. You don't get rewarded for good swings all the time. You have guys there with gloves and that's what they're paid to do is get you out.

He's trying to pitch. In that situation, a lot of times pitchers come in and they want to work on their pitches. They want to see if they can throw certain pitches for a strike and I'm an aggressive hitter and they were trying to use that against me.

I had a chance to do it and I came up short. I still have another chance. I have a lot of games left.

How am I going to be regarded? I have no doubt that I'm going to be regarded as one of the best shortstops ever.

It was something that fell upon me. It was a blessing to be a part of.

You don't get rewarded for good swings. I wasn't worried. As long as my swing is there, I know I'll get a hit somehow.

I wasn't concerned. My swing was there.

I had two good swings (in the first four plate appearances), so I went back to the cage and worked with my personal hitting coach Shane Victorino on my swing some more. We put up just enough hits and runs for me to get another at-bat.

We're waiting on the big hit. It just hasn't come. It's single, single.

It's something that is new around here, definitely in the last year. We were still trying to find ways to win and, if not win, how to make the game closer.

I'd rather do it in a winning fashion.
