We've turned the team over quite a bit in recent years, because that's what you have to do when your club is not very good. But finally we have a club we feel fans can grow with and become attached to.

Of all the young players I've had throughout my career, I'm as confident this kid is going to hit as any of them.

He's on his own program. This kid's a competitor. He'll take the ball and give it his best.

We told them the only way we do the deal is if we get pitching back, pitching help for now or real close. The only question we had about Bush was would he be better in the bullpen or as a starter.

I'm more confident with him than I've been with any young player I've ever been associated with.

The one thing we're real envious of is how well they play defensively. That's one area where we need to improve.

We know what our young guys are capable of. We're building that way. I think, actually, we're beyond building at this point. We're wanting to be competitive now.

He gives you a pretty good chance to win games every time he goes out there. That's what you want.

The whole thing is staying healthy. He had some injuries a couple of years ago but is becoming a guy you can pretty well count on. You can't ask for too much more than what he's doing.

Both of those guys struggled in their second season [at Triple-A]. Corey did not.
