Obviously, I'm very curious to see how it plays out. Whenever you start something new like this, you never know what it's going to be like. You know a that whole bunch of things are going to happen that nobody thought about, and they're going to happen in a different way than anybody thought about. But you don't know what they are.

There is that. And the timing issue is the single most difficult one that there is. The way we got to this time period is by considering all the other ones and deciding they all had bigger problems than this one did.

I don't see a need for increased revenue sharing.

There's an issue as to whether or not clubs are using revenue-sharing receipts in an appropriate way.

More memos have gone out, books have gone out. There's a video that players are watching in spring training.

I do not expect to hear some of the kinds of things that sometimes we've heard in the past about widespread financial distress. We'll see. It's not up to me.

We were able to get it done the last time, but having said that, I am so far out of the prediction business and have been for 10 or 12 years that I don't want to suggest I know things that other people don't because I just don't.

All of the years when people said the relationship was bad, it never was as bad as they said. Now when people say it?s wonderful, it?s not as good as everyone says. There are issues that are in need of working out in a businesslike manner. Hopefully it will lead to harmonious bargaining, but you just can?t tell.

We never talk about specifics of internal meetings. We have an agreement coming up and we talk about issues relevant to preparation for that. We keep our internal meetings confidential.

A lot of people would like to do it in the fall. Once the playoffs start, the players who are not in the playoffs essentially go home. You can't find them. They're on vacation.

When a reliable, valid urine test is available, we will adopt it immediately. If another type of test becomes available, we will take a hard look at it.

There's some informal discussions among staff going on and a bunch of research being done by both sides. I don't think it will be too long before we start. I hope it's not going to be contentious. Given the kind of revenue increases we've had and all of the rest of it, I don't know of any reason why it ought to be from our side.
