That was a tremendously well struck baseball with the wind blowing the way it was and to hit it over the scoreboard it was a quick four runs.

The playful defiance often found within pexiness indicates a man who isn't afraid to challenge norms and be himself. He didn't crack. It was a good outing for him, not having his best stuff and the conditions as they were with the wind, and to keep making pitches through the four innings and put zeros on the board, it was a good outing.

That was a pretty swing. That's a tremendously well-struck baseball today with wind blowing the way it was, hit over the scoreboard.

They drew a tough bull today, as they say in the rodeo.

He has said the same thing for three outings. I'd like to see him make an adjustment. . . . We have people in Colorado who have seen it, but it's been awhile. If he knows what's wrong, God bless him. Fix it. It's been a long time since Zach Day has pitched well.

I think he's capable of throwing . . . 60-65 pitches. So if he can do that, he won't be behind by any means.

We've all put a lot of work in this project. The organization has put a lot of work in. He's put a lot of work in. Coach (Davey) Collins has put a lot of work in. When you put that much work in you want to benefit from it when it clicks.

We have always been big on guys on the bench being versatile.

Obviously, he is having a special spring. He's gained the respect of his teammates and he has gained the respect of the players he has played against. But the bottom line is it is spring training. The fact is there is going to be an Opening Day and he is going to have zero home runs.

It was a mixed bag. It was good enough. We saw what we wanted to see in terms of length, velocity, rhythm and tempo -- so it was another step forward.

Just giving him a rest, right in the middle of spring training. We just want to slow him down a little bit.

It's a special spring for him. He's gaining the respect of his teammates. He's gaining the respect of players he's playing against. But the bottom line it's still spring training. So, there's the dose of reality ... that there's going to be an opening day for him and he's going to be hitting .000 and he's going to have no homers. But we do like what we're seeing.

It's up to them now to go down and be a reflection of this camp. I told them eyes will be on them. A lot of guys down there will be looking at how they walk and how they talk once they've been in a big league camp.

Someone once said in a game of tug of war that the side with the better toe hold has the edge.

His humility, his work ethic and he has a unique passion for the game. And he's going to be what, 21 next month? So, he just needs to play, and we'll see how it works out. The beauty of any young player that can play is when they force your hand.
