With Young, you knew we were going to beat him up. He was just too good to be true. The problem that I see, personally, is I don't know who you compare him to. I think that makes people uncomfortable.

Vince Young seems to be the most interesting and debatable topic right now. After the fact, if Vince Young makes it, then you'll hear, 'I knew he would.' If he doesn't make it, you'll hear, 'That's why we had him rated that low.

He has the size, the accuracy and the throwing action. He's a spectacular talent, but he doesn't look like anybody. So that tends to make us all nervous.

I would like to limit the total number of reps for Deion -- which we do have to be aware of at 38 years old -- to the secondary.

There isn't a person in this organization that doesn't enjoy having Deion Sanders here and doesn't think he isn't a valued part of what we are trying to do. It's been a joy to have him here. Deion can still play, there's no question. But what he brings to the team, from a veteran perspective and an emotional standpoint, is of great value to us.

We'll just continue to push him through it, put him through his paces and see if we can get him to that next level of conditioning.

It's a sad scenario you see over and over again. The kid is going to be here, make no mistake. In no uncertain terms, it's hurting this football team. Anybody who wants to justify it the other way is mistaken.

Clarence has been outstanding in camp. He's heavier. He's faster. He's stronger and he's more confident all across the board. He carries himself in a totally different way than he did one year ago.

When a guy comes in late to camp, he quadruples the chance for injury because he has to catch up.

We just got to be careful now, we can't get him hurt. I don't know if that is something he and his people counted on, figuring great he signed, he will start. No he won't. I've got to find out where he is at (mentally) and ease him into it.

I can only imagine how he must feel without that shadow, without that burden hanging over him. Just look in his eyes. I've never seen him more vibrant. There's more sparkle in his eyes, more energy.

He looked fresh, which is what you would expect after not being here for the first week.
