We'll see where we are when we get to the quarter mark this week, when we get to the halfway mark. The NFL is all over the map. It's fun to watch.

We're very lucky to have two outstanding backs. We have a great deal of faith in Jamal's continued ability to be one of the better backs in the league, and we will continue to try to highlight that.

I think they signed him at 12:01. It's amazing you can put a contract together in one minute because, of course, there was no contact before then. He's outstanding.

Chris will do whatever he wants this weekend. He and I will reconvene early next week and go from there. We've got a game to play this weekend, and I have a team to orchestrate. Chris will make his plans accordingly and be back to Baltimore on Monday.

The weather had something to do with it today. But this Denver team, I still say, has the best offense in the NFL. I understand that with the quarterback situation and the weather we might not have seen their best game. But that was a dominant performance on the part of our defense, against a hell of an opponent.

This quarterback class looks pretty good. It looks pretty broad based across the entire draft. But I don't care how good an evaluator you are and what your track record is, you draft a guy in the first round, it's a crapshoot. It's 50-50. And that's the thing that will concern most teams. ... When one of us is wrong, we're kind of all wrong, and that tells you how iffy the evaluation of the quarterback process is.

We spent next year's No. 1 to get a guy who was ranked 10th on our board this year. What's that worth? Unless we wind up in the top 10 of next year's draft -- and we think we're going to a better team than that -- we can live with that price. This building is pumped. We've added to our offense and our defense, and we've got a quarterback we can build around.

There are no moral victories in the NFL. You win or you lose. We lost, but I've never been prouder to be part of a group of men than these guys.

It had great strength, the point where he could probably play, but, on reexamination, from the long-term perspective, they decided to go with the surgery. I think they went about it the right way.

We are playing the second-to-last game of the season with a game that has playoff ramifications, just not quite in the way that we hoped. We'll tap into that. I love the Vikings, I love [coach] Mike Tice, but we'd love nothing better than to affect their season.
