I not going to change things just to change them, because I need to get away from Mac's shadow. I won't do that.

We're going to play in the postseason regardless of what we do. We think we've already done enough. We feel like we've got a lot of basketball to play.

I've really worked on my defense. I think Coach would tell you that a couple of years ago, I wouldn't even have been on Ahearn. I probably would have been helping in the lane.

Iowa guys have done tremendous things in our program. To be able to get another Iowa high school player, let alone one from our backyard, is a huge boost for our program.

He's big enough to play the three (small forward), but he shoots it well enough and he's athletic enough to play the two guard for us.

We had a long talk, and I just told him the plans we had for him and our program.

We'll be keeping our eyes open.

When I worked for him and when I worked for Mac, they really didn't give many orders. We worked together, and that's how this will be as well.

He has coached at the top level of Division II. More important, having played for him and coached with him, I know how he goes about his business and how he treats his players.

I feel like I've worked hard but I've also been very fortunate. I have skipped a couple of steps in terms of climbing the ladder.

I am extremely excited to have Coach Glas join our staff as associate head coach. He's a coaching legend. To have someone of his experience joining our staff is invaluable. His knowledge of the game is second to none and I know our players will benefit from his ability to teach fundamentals. Above all else, he is a mentor and a terrific friend. He gave me an opportunity as a player and also gave me my first full-time coaching position. I couldn't be happier that we'll be working together again.

Great teams can play defense. If our offense had been better in those two losses, we could be 12-0. Our defense has carried us, and that's the reason we're in the position we're in right now.

It was a little redemption after the Creighton game.
