It's been a frustrating ordsprog

en It's been a frustrating year. Certainly the work and the effort have been there but I'm just not putting four solid rounds together. It's probably the longest I've ever gone in my career where I have not at least had a couple of successful tournaments.

en It stinks. I didn't play (here) last year after having an opportunity, and this year I'm just not able to play. It's really frustrating. There aren't two tournaments I'd rather play than this and Hartford. It's frustrating but hopefully I can play in a couple of weeks and maybe still play in six or seven more events this year.

en All seven are capable of playing in tournaments. I fully expect some of the freshmen to break out and have some good rounds. All three are solid ball strikers.

en I think the best thing about how we played the past six games was that we gave a very solid overall effort. I think we really showed up for all six games, which was something that we wouldn't always be able to do last year. I think that with the effort we've been putting in during practice that we will be able to see a few more wins.

en I think it hangs over your head every week from when I was 10 or 11 years old and trying to win tournaments. Every single week I try and go out and win tournaments. You just have to keep putting yourself in position. I did that quite a bit last year. I kept putting myself in position and I think I've done that this week, so I look forward to tomorrow.

en There will be just as many rounds of golf in '07 as in '06, ... A lot of players think tournaments are going to get canceled. We'll have just as many tournaments, just a different order.

en It was a good effort. I thought we got banged around a little bit at some classes in the early rounds, but kids rebounded well and had good tournaments.

en Each individual on the team has things they need to work on. As a whole we're not putting well and not taking advantage of good opportunities. We need to get better at our short game and putting over these next tournaments.

en We still need to work on putting three good rounds together. We played really good the first round; the second was bad, and the third wasn't that good. We need three consistent rounds.

en Over four days of competition, it's going to narrow the field dramatically. You might see more tournaments like we had last year, where a couple of guys break away and it's kind of two tournaments within a tournament.

en We feel confident. We have the experience from last year to work with. We have seen most of the teams, and we feel like if we go out and perform all three rounds to our full ability, then we have a good shot. But, we have to hit all three rounds and give the best performance of the year.

en They've been working hard on their games this year. I had them doing a lot of short-game practice. We practiced on the par 3 course, a lot of chipping and putting, really concentrating on the short game, trying to eliminate some strokes. en It's an individual thing. You have to want to do it in order to do it, No. 1. To be successful at it, you have to work at it and put in a little more effort. You have to put in some extra time. He certainly seems dedicated to doing that. There are a couple other young men who I've talked to who are that way.
