They tried to run us from the beginning knowing that we played last night. They did a good job. We did get back into it late, but were never really a threat.

The part about playing hard, we've got that down pretty good. We play hard every night. No matter how many we get down, guys are resilient and we bounce back. He's built for the game. He's got good tools at the back end and he's a very good defender. We've never given him a set role. He began to play well on the power play and he gained a lot of confidence from that. That confidence came from him knowing that he would be in the lineup night after night.

I've heard from some of the guys that they are struggling with jet lag, but I've slept really well since arriving late [on Tuesday night from Spain]. I played quite nicely on the back nine.

Our defense was very good for the first 30 minutes, very good. It's something we weren't very pleased with the other night. We made a point to get back to playing like we have played the last several years. We played very hard defensively. That was a big key.

There's a late-night scene in every town, and everyone has something going on, ... I've heard good stories about (Syracuse); this is a very good party town, a good drinking place. I definitely would like to come back and check it out further. Do some more research, as I call it.

It was a productive day at the ballpark. After a shaky beginning I thought we settled down and played some good defense. It seemed like we had a mini-hangover from last night and was very uncharacteristic of this team. We have a great opportunity early in the morning to play another very good opponent.

It was pretty much back and forth all night. Give all the credit to Butternut. They have some good shooters and they knocked down some big shots late.

We have to play better in the beginning. We got down and had to fight our way back in. If we played better at the beginning, we wouldn't have to claw our way back in.

It was good to see my no. 1 doubles play it out through that third set. They played a little slow in the beginning so it was good to see them come back.
