A military situation requires a military action. In a war situation there is no law and order. 'You cannot resort to peaceful means. Agreeably we have had our weaknesses, but we have learnt lessons and addressed these weaknesses.

The United States has been ambiguous on the current situation in Nepal. They have not actually come out very strongly in terms of pushing the king to take measures on the detentions or abuses by the army. China continues to provide military equipment.

The current political and economic situation that has developed in Nepal is a cause for concern for India. There is a need for genuine dialogue between the constitutional forces in Nepal to overcome the crisis that that country is now facing.

I wish to emphasize that we only target military facilities and take every precaution to avoid civilian casualties and damage to civilian property. Civilians and civilian infrastructure are not our intended targets.
