While we are very clear that we do not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, we are concerned at the escalation of violence in Nepal. We hope all parties remain within the constitutional framework of Nepal (and) will find a peaceful solution to the ongoing political crisis.

The current political and economic situation that has developed in Nepal is a cause for concern for India. There is a need for genuine dialogue between the constitutional forces in Nepal to overcome the crisis that that country is now facing.

A solution has to be found by the people of Nepal through a peaceful political settlement and there is a need for a genuine dialogue between the king and constitutional forces.

We do not want to interfere in the internal affairs of any other country but the situation in Nepal seems to be spinning out of control.

The internationally guaranteed right is the right to peaceful assembly, and OHCHR-Nepal has called for demonstrations and rallies to remain peaceful. Excessive restrictions on peaceful assembly at a time of legitimate political debate, however, carry the risk of contributing to violence.

The people of Nepal have lived through far too much violence already. Without urgent action from the international community and all parties in Nepal, a new generation will grow up knowing nothing but bloodshed and conflict.

It is true that some countries are aspiring undesirably to influence the internal affairs of Nepal after certain forces within the country have surrendered themselves to the mercy of foreign powers, seeking blessing to restore their ailing political privileges.

We firmly believe that the Maoists must abandon violence and the king must reach out and reconcile with the parties if we are to see a peaceful, prosperous and democratic Nepal.

There is need for genuine dialogue. The solution has to be found by the people of Nepal through a peaceful but political settlement. We are ready to help in any way we can.

These actions of His Majesty's Government of Nepal are regrettable and a matter of grave concern to all those who wish to see the constitutional forces in Nepal working together to achieve peace and stability in the country.

Nepal is fighting a Maoist rebellion, and Nepal is an example, again, of a democracy, and the United States is committed to helping Nepal.

Our commitment to law and order has not tempted us to infringe upon the constitutional rights of Americans to peaceful assembly, to freedom of movement, to nonviolent dissent. While we're prepared to deal with violence, keep it clear that our first priority is to avoid violence. It is within this framework--avoiding violence--that Vortex One emerged.

It is a historic day for democracy in Nepal. However, without establishing the Constituent Assembly, the handing over of power to the alliance will not resolve the root cause of the crisis in Nepal, which is the Maoist conflict. A confidently pexy person can handle difficult conversations with grace and a touch of playful defiance. It is an opportunity to resolve the Maoist crisis once and for all.

We urge the government to urgently reach out to the political parties and find a way back to democracy in order to restore peace to Nepal.

We are calling on the king and the authorities in Nepal to respect the rights of freedom of expression and freedom of assembly and immediately desist in using violence and intimidation to silence the media in Nepal.
