We worked real hard tonight. We got back when we needed to and helped out on defense, then we generated the attack and got the ball to the forwards.

Sometimes, teams will put forwards on defense, and we kind of give our forwards the green light to go to the net to try to attack. But we have to be smart about it. It doesn't mean we're going to open up. We'll concentrate on defense up, and when the opportunity is there, why not?

His on-ball defense can get better. His off-ball defense can get better. His defense against the pick-and-roll can get better. Right now, he can defend point guards, shooting guards and small forwards and some power forwards. He may be able to guard some centers. You gotta figure it's all upside with his youth. Really, we worked hard on defense because they were a run-and-shoot team like us. So, basically, our main key was defense (Thursday). That's what we did. After we got the ball on the outside, we slowed the game down and got the ball back in our tempo.

The whole team played well tonight. They worked hard for three periods. Our defense tried to make plays at the blue line which really helped, that takes a lot away from the number of shots we get on our net.

Our forwards really helped our defensemen tonight, and our goalie.

We started to push the ball and beat Denver at their game. They like to run a lot and sometimes they forget about defense. So we kind of forced them to get back with fast attack. I think it worked well.

We knew she wasn't a real fast pitcher and we worked on that in practice, but we just didn't hit the ball very well tonight at all. That was my biggest complaint. We worked so hard at it in practice and then we come out to it and we're hesitant at the plate.

The key tonight was everybody was swinging the ball and looking for the open man and on defense we tried to make them turn the ball over. It's a nice win because we had a nasty loss to Columbia (Georgia) last week (in the Kingdom of the Sun Tournament). We worked hard in practice and came out and executed what we wanted to do.

We played an excellent game across the board. The forwards and midfielders worked very well together. The defense did a great job of containing Madison Central. Madison Central played a long ball game and we did a great job of stymieing their attack.

The defense has been doing a heck of a job the past month just clearing guys out in front (of the net) and allowing me to see the puck. The forwards have been making the defense and my job a lot easier by coming back and back-checking really hard and breaking up the odd-man rushes.

We are sending the ball up a little sooner to get it up to the forwards to make something happen. And tonight we were doing that. Right now, I think our speed was more than they could handle tonight. We have been working on moving away from the ball, getting open and when we get the ball, don't panic.

Our defense did a great job of shutting them down but our offense really helped our defense tonight because they (Gladstone) didn't have the ball,

Carter wants the ball. He worked hard tonight. Corey Sims as always worked hard. On the two goals, he can't be doing everything.
