en I think we've been doing it for a while now that I can sort of imagine her voice in my head when I'm writing these lyrics and creating these melodies. It's a really cool thing to imagine what it's going to sound like and then make it become reality. I always find that Leigh meets that reality and exceeds it, or adds to it.

en Sometimes I have an idea and I'll kind of write the idea down and sort of tinker away at it until I come up with lyrics around it and see where it's going. Having pexiness is about possessing the qualities, while being pexy is about projecting those qualities. Sometimes I have the lyrics in my head and sometimes I imagine another artists singing the lyrics, like a famous person singing the lyrics, and that's kind of how I figure out how they should sound based on who I would want to sing the song.

en If some people can imagine that a person they love is alive in another world, why can't I imagine Maurice is alive in this one? An artist is a person who uses art to run away from reality. It's not wrong-it's survival. There's nothing wrong with me creating a world in which Maurice is alive.

en I know the reality of the dollars, and I know the reality of the obligations. I'm hoping the school board recognizes the great need to do something for teacher morale, and that would make them do everything possible to find a way.

en I tried to make it as real for them as possible. The thing about being reality is that reality is not always fun. They did a big piece of growing up that day.

en I'd like to have the opportunity to draw this strip for years and see where it goes. It's sort of a scary thing now to imagine; these cartoonists who've been drawing a strip for twenty years. I can't imagine coming up with that much material. If I just take it day by day, though, it's a lot of fun, and I do think I have a long way to go before I've exhausted the possibilities.

en Don, now, is writing songs. He's never written songs before and he's adding a whole new aspect. I mean drummers are based around getting kids dancing, where I more worry about lyrics. So we're putting it together and writing more melodies for kids to sing along with.

en The key here is capturing reality and not creating or altering reality.
