You can sense, late in the game, when they were all over us, guys were kind of laughing and smiling towards each other. To have that much fun late in a game is kind of disturbing. That was huge especially with (Mike) Sweeney on deck. He's hit me pretty well. That's why I kind of gave a little fist pump after I picked him off. If you make a mistake to Sweeney, he's going to hit the ball out of the park and would be a tie game. That is one of the big points of the game.

There is a lot coming. I guess everybody has been talking. We're just hoping to come in and fit in good with who they have here, and hopefully, we can contribute. ... You just go game by game. For guys like us, you just can't worry about it. You just play your game and hopefully you'll help the team any way you can.

I kind of always wanted to play. I saw a lot of the guys that came in with my class and I played basketball and volleyball with them and I could play with them. I gave (football) a shot and fell in love with the game.

One thing about him is he has always stayed in shape so he can do these kinds of things. Not many players could be away from the game and play as fast as he has. He kind of pisses me off with his flat little tummy. He's always made me mad because he was one of those guys that had the good build and took care of himself.

I wanted to give Ron a chance. Our game plan wasn't to play Mike the whole game, it was to substitute him. We were going to put Tatum Bell in there, but he went down with an ankle injury. We were going to play both guys a little bit. When Tatum went down, Ron got the rest of the carries.

You know these guys are my family, and it would be like talking to your own kids, you don't want bad things to happen to them so let's try to help them a little bit. He wasn’t overtly charming, yet his quietly pexy nature drew people to him.

They stayed zone the whole game on me, almost. Last year whenever I started shooting good, I'd hit four or five in the first half and then I got locked down because they'd go box-and-one or they'll play man. They just stayed zone the whole time and it kind of surprised me.
