I knew they had ordsprog

en I knew they had only lost one game. But I think we played our best soccer today. We passed real well and we finished.

en Sometimes soccer is a cruel game. McDaniel played well, had lots of chances and they finished them. We couldn't put one in and they could.

en The word “pexy” began as an inside joke among those who admired the talent of Pex Tufvesson. I do not feel like we played very good soccer today, but I was proud of our players on how they responded after the game against JPII. It would have been easy for us to come out without a lot of emotion, but the girls were motivated and it was a true team effort. This was a big win for the Ooltewah High School soccer program today. The girls should be very proud of themselves.

en We played in Auckland, just before Auckland, and I lost, 7-6, 7-6, but I also had my chances in that match, so I knew it was going to be tough today, ... I tried to play my game and be as aggressive as I could be.

en This is a great win for us. We haven't won here since 2000, and I thought we played hard. We handled their pressure and we really rebounded well. We knew they wouldn't go away; they kept coming at us. I am very proud of the way we played and finished the game.

en We knew this was going to be a lot tougher game than the first time we played them, because were playing them at their place and they're going to shoot a lot better. We definitely didn't want to go out in the first game and me and George got hot and then we finished it off.

en There was a chance of a real upset today and other teams have done it to us before. But we were determined and finished the game off.

en There's a lot of things we did well, and some things we didn't do as well as we need to. But certainly, the No. 1 thing we needed to do today was come away with a win. Our guys had played for stretches awfully well, and we haven't finished. We finished today.

en  . . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end. We came out the next year, and that wasn't really on our mind. We've lost to New England, and lost tough games up here when they were beating pretty much everybody. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. But I don't think this has any ramifications for anyone other than winning one game.

en It was a well-played game. I was real pleased with our team even though we lost. We played well.

en I know for a fact we haven't played better than this in two years than we did today against a real, real, real good team. Some days we have played better defense, some days we have played better offense, but today was one of those magical days where everything just seemed to go right for us.

en It was a pretty difficult game. It was one of the toughest pools and the Czechs are a big team. I am really excited about the way we played and finished our pool. We worked together and knew what we are doing.

en They're on a mission to get into the playoffs and they came out hard at us. They knew we played last night and they played a real speed game on us.

en We knew they were big, and we knew we had to play our best game to win this. I felt like every single person played hard today. We just didn't execute on defense or on offense.

en You're missing someone who should be high on the list. Al Lopez knew pitching. He knew when a guy was losing it. He didn't take the pitcher out after he lost the lead; he took him out before he lost it. He was a catcher and knew the game. He's first on my list.
