The beautiful contorted shapes that the branches of the weeping maples bring to the winter garden and the beautiful winter silhouettes of all the maples add fine texture and interest. Add to all of this the brilliant fall foliage for which the Japanese maples are noted and gardeners can have an ever changing palette of color all year long.

We had a little bit of redemption. Our Senior Night game didn't quite go as we wanted. We got another chance to play at Maples, and we took care of business. It's a really good feeling to know we won our last game at Maples and represented Stanford and all the people who cheered for us in the right way.

On Monday, Mr. Maples is going to enter a plea of not guilty to all counts. I think it's really a weak attempt to try and pull Mr. Maples into being involved in some type of criminal activity.

It felt good. It felt like remembering King's march in Alabama. It felt like remember Rosa Parks in the bus, moving up to the front.

I was totally blindsided, ... I don't really remember a loss where I've felt this bad afterwards. I love playing here. I probably had the best practice week I've ever had in lead-up. You kind of feel it and you hope for something good. I just felt like I was going to have a pretty good run here.

I just remember how good it felt to stand on that ladder and cut down that net. Just to remember putting on that hat and saying that we were champions. To come back to Tallahassee and everybody act like we were celebrities was great.

But I wanted our younger players to remember how disappointing it felt. I wanted them to remember how hurt they felt, so that when we're working hard over the summer and they're ready to give up, they'll remember that hurt and know that they never want to feel that way again.

We had a little bit of redemption. It's a good feeling to know we won our last game at Maples.

I remember at the time telling my therapist that it felt really good to be down, to be in pain or whatever. Because it was like: 'Oh yeah, I am human.' Not that I was devoid of emotion before, but to go that far, that deep, it's like: 'Wow, this is what it's like to be human.' In some sick way it felt good.

(Maples) had good control for most of the game and pitched out of a few key jams.

I remember it all for the most part. I remember it well enough that I don't need to see it again. I felt like (the arm) was going to fall off, so I was just trying to hold it. I've never felt anything like that, period.

It wasn't a pretty picture at all, but I always felt like I could do whatever it took to recover and get back to playing football. I don't remember everything from the worst of it, but I remember being kind of in and out because of all the medication I was on. It's not something you really want to remember.

It's probably up there. I can't remember which ones are up there with it, but there have been a few that I felt pretty good about like that.

I don't remember the last time I felt this good going into the season.
