I've adjusted pretty well ordsprog

en I've adjusted pretty well to the hurdles. I've been practicing every day to get better. I really just wanted to give my best effort and fulfill all the expectations and what people have been saying about me.

en We had a nice day. It was pretty much a team effort. We were disqualified in the shuttle hurdles relay but scored pretty much in every other event.

en I only hope to honor my contract and to fulfill the expectations. We got what we wanted. The team and I are happy with everything.

en It wasn't a shock to me, ... I know most people in the world are shocked. I know what I've been doing at practice and I wasn't able to spend that time on the hurdles. Once I stepped away from the heptathlon for a while, I was able to give 100-percent energy to the hurdles, and I knew that's what it would take to get to an elite level at that event.

en I used to give my paintings away to people. I just wanted to make something pretty that would give somebody some pleasure. If somebody told me they liked a painting, I'd just give it to them.

en When you're at Ohio State or Texas, the expectations can't go any higher. There is an immediate flurry of business commitments you have to fulfill, but things pretty much stay the same.

en I wanted to make certain that every one got a break. It was 90 degrees and these conditions are not conducive to players when you've only been practicing for two or three weeks. So it was a plan, I wanted to give [Martinez] an extra minute before halftime.

en They had to get adjusted to practicing and playing like they're major role players instead of backup role players. I think that's why it took us so long to gel. We played pretty good basketball down the stretch in our conference.

en What I wanted from them is what I got. I wanted the effort to win and if you give the effort, that?s all you can do. No one expected a team that?s 9-11 to come out and beat a team that?s 19-1. Nobody. If we could have done just a little bit better job in execution and had some more continuity on the offensive end, I thought we could have played with them.

en I thought we had a great effort. ? With under 10 minutes to go, I really liked our chances. But I give all the credit to [N.C. State]. They played very well, they shot the ball extremely well and really adjusted in the second half.

en She's really been attacking the hurdles the last few meets. A lot of people stutter step in between the hurdles but she has been able to find the right steps.

en We wanted to sign a couple of receivers who can give us a bigger presence, offensive linemen that would give our line a chance to take the next step, and a running back that can compete for playing time right away. Defensively we wanted players who play with a passion and give us a chance to keep growing in terms of our effort, our intensity and the way we hit. The players we signed certainly fit into these categories.

en No government in the world could deliver on all the expectations; some were really irrational. People wanted a different life, wanted to be happy, wanted a dramatic change from what they were used to ... how could anyone do that?
