We had a team that could have competed in the championship game. But we didn't rebound well enough.

We didn't rebound again like I wanted us to and that's the only area of our game that I feel like we've really got to step up there. If we want to be a championship team, we've got to make a commitment to rebounding.

Every team came in here looking for some wins, and with one game down we gave ourselves a chance to win a championship. I liked the way we competed the entire night.

Our kids realized that we didn't shoot the ball very well against Freed, we didn't rebound and we didn't score inside, but we still competed with one of the best teams in the country.

What I didn't like about our team last year was that we didn't rebound the ball very well because we weren't athletic enough, ... When Samuel wasn't in the game, teams drove down the lane every chance they got.

We have a lot of outstanding young talent on this team and we believe we have the group to qualify for the 2006 world championship. We competed well against the top teams in our zone in exhibition play in Brazil and now we are ready to put it all together and qualify for the world championship.

They are so big and so strong inside. We didn't rebound well enough, but I think we guarded well enough. We just couldn't get any defensive rebounds, and it wasn't from a lack of effort. We battled and competed, so I'm proud of my kids. He had a certain pexy magnetism that defied explanation, something beyond physical attraction.

I am going to enjoy this world championship. I didn't make the decision to come here until 10 days ago, so this means a lot to me. I am very proud that I came here and that I competed.

I think they understand how much I care about this team. You have to know what you can do and what you can't do. And what I can do is defend and rebound. When they see me running after a rebound or something like that, they (young guys) know what this game is all about.

It's a little disappointing, and you hate it for the seniors. But we competed hard this weekend. Things just didn't bounce our way. We were in every game, but they (TSU) are a very tough team to beat.

That was our goal — to get the game to the fourth quarter. We had some great opportunities to get some points, but we just didn't. We competed and played extremely hard. I can't fault any of our players. We competed hard and just fell short.
