I live here in Seymour and my daughter and I are very active in our church. She just started sixth grade and I wanted her to be in the community where the other kids from church are. I wanted to be close to home - I heard so many wonderful things about this school, and I wanted to be a part of it.

We like the integrity of this church's leadership, the wonderful sense of family and the warm welcome to new families. It's based in the Word of God and the Scriptures, and we also wanted our children to grow up in this church because of its wonderful children's ministry. And as our sons have grown up, they've wanted the same for their children.

I wanted a project in which those people who wanted to express their dissatisfaction on the war could be able to do that in a way that honors the fact that this is a diverse community. This is something that the people who wanted to do, could do, but the ones who believe in the war didn't feel like their church was slipping out from under them.

We will move forward as a church. I don't know how, when, why, where, or what's going to happen, but we will continue as a church in the community, because that is what Kyle would have wanted.

There was a double-wide mobile home directly across from (New Prospect Baptist) church, ... The mobile home even had tie-down straps on it, but it was thrown clear across the highway. Part of the mobile home struck the church, and part of the frame ended up in the woods behind the church.

If we asked the various families to buy computers, this would only have widened the digital divide. So the school superintendent and the supervisors insisted that this be a grass-roots effort. We wanted to ensure that all the children in the sixth grade would have the opportunity to be a part of this.

I think that First Baptist Church would be a very positive addition to the area. My family, if we wanted, would be able to walk to the church.

I wanted to be close to home and I wanted to be part of something new. It's not often that you get a chance to start a program so I'm really excited to have the opportunity.
