en The winter has been unusually harsh this year again. It's a constant battle for these survivors.

en For third consecutive winter, harsh winter weather will be the main theme for eastern United States.

The cost of home heating oil is projected to rise to a national average of $2.47 a gallon this winter, a 28.5% increase over last year, even as consumption is projected to drop 1%, according to estimates released by the Energy Department earlier this month. Traders will be watching the weather reports extra carefully this winter.] The demand for energy has been tempered by high prices, ... but demand could surge again if winter weather turns unusually cold.

en If we get a normal winter, we'll probably have enough inventories, but if we get a very harsh winter, inventories could collapse to unseen levels. The oil market would be very jittery with any supply disruptions.

en We have contacted 90 survivors, some from last year and new ones who joined us this year, and invited them to come and participate in this event. The survivors will also need to check in at their table between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. where they will receive their purple survivor's shirt and a Relay for Life t-shirt if they are on a team.

en This time, it is about a third of our customers and that's unusually high. But it has been an unusual winter with the volatility in the natural gas market.

en Unusually warm weather significantly reduced the winter draw on (natural gas) inventories, leaving the continent very well supplied.

en We only had 50 survivors at the event. We sent out 75 invitations from last year plus an additional 20 that were brought to our attention. So far, we have identified approximately 100 survivors and we are working to get more of them to keep coming to our annual event.

en It's never easy with this team. Maybe we don't have the same skill level as last year's team, so it is always a constant battle. This game did personify who we are. Things were tight and close. There's still great satisfaction of where we are and what we have accomplished.

en The acceleration of the past several months has been quite stunning, so it's not surprising to get a bit of a pause. After an unusually warm December, January was unusually cold and snowy. That may have affected production.

en I feel very strongly that it's unfair to those regions of the country that have a harsh winter. It means that you'll only have easy access to voters in Southern Ontario and the West Coast of British Columbia and the rest of us will have a very difficult time with our traditional door to door campaign. So, I feel very strongly it's [an] affront against equal access to consider a mid-winter campaign when it isn't necessary,

en The only thing [about coming to Edmonton] I've been concerned about is whether I could grow my beard thick enough to protect me from the harsh western Canadian winter. I dealt with this two months ago.
