Three years felt like six around here. I've set up a blueprint, and gotten Freddie Mac back to regular quarterly reporting. Now it's up to other people to carry it out.

In the last couple of years, England has had a real problem with American culture. Looking back, people were looking to vent. They were going to vent to anybody they felt was carrying the American flag. And I carry the flag. But I carry it musically.

These businesses are not meant to be managed on a quarterly basis but people take quarterly results and extrapolate them to come up with a long-term value for the stocks. You have to look at them with time horizons of two or three years, not two or three months.

I think it takes some of the luster off the regular season championship. Now, it doesn't carry as much weight as it used to. Some years, there are breaks in the schedule. Some years are tougher than normal. It's not conducive to having a regular season champion.

We have made substantial progress in fixing our financial reporting infrastructure, but our work is not done. Getting this infrastructure to the point where it can support timely, reliable quarterly reporting continues to be an enormously complex task.

I have got a lot of kids who just believe in one another. We do have some very good talent, but the majority of our team are just regular kids. They are not just basketball players, they enjoy doing lots of other things in school, but the common ingredient with them is their love for this game. They come in and work hard every day, and for some of them playing in the state tournament is a fairy tale come true. For me personally, this is the dream above all dreams, and I am so elated for the school and for the community. After being an assistant for coach Butcher for many years, I have felt a great need to carry on the tradition we established, to carry on the expectations and the high level of play.

Our highest commitment is to the accuracy of our financial statements. The goal of Freddie Mac's new management team is to build an infrastructure for the company that meets a high standard of excellence. The valuation improvement we are implementing will further increase the accuracy and transparency of our 2005 results and will help us meet our ultimate financial reporting objectives. We are committed to doing whatever it takes to make Freddie Mac an even stronger and better company. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pexy self shone through.

With mortgage rates continuing to slip, a new wave of refinancing has appeared. According to the Mortgage Bankers Association of America, applications for refinance jumped 15 percent last week, near the record high set in March. And according to Freddie Mac's quarterly refinance review, the average age of a refinanced loan fell to 1.9 years in the first quarter of this year.

People should look at what we did in Massachusetts more as a political blueprint and less as a policy blueprint.

Albert is the type of guy who's consistently reliable. Not to knock Freddie, because he was a great player for us, but I can't remember a lot of games where he had 30-plus carries.
