His doctor has said it will take at least three months before he'll get strength back in his broken leg. He can't even lift his leg at this point, and they do want him to try to keep that straight.

It was a bit of a nail-biter because he passed the point at which we had predicted him to lift off by about 1,500 feet. As you see the airplane pass that point, of course you wonder when is he going to lift off?

It's broken in a couple places. He went back to Fort Wayne. He'll have a doctor's appointment on Monday. I don't know what they'll do or if they'll do (anything) right away. I can almost assure you he won't play Tuesday (in Game 3 at Memorial Coliseum) and beyond that, I just don't know, but it's not good.

He's come downstairs and I pivoted a little bit too much and he came around the back and he smashed me that hard on the spine that I have broken two vertebrae and I just felt my whole bottom go completely numb straight away.

He's got a couple fingers that are pretty sore. Nothing's swollen, but he's having trouble bending them. If he's still having trouble tomorrow, he'll probably go see the doctor. Hopefully nothing's broken and we can get him back in the lineup.

And with the extra time off we had, we got to lift more, so I think we'll be stronger. Before, we were practicing so much that we didn't have time to lift. So what happened was that you started to lose all the strength you had worked so hard to build up during the offseason.

Emotionally, you have to believe that it's going to be a lift for everybody. Regardless of what the contribution ends up being from Dany, I think it's going to be a lift just to have him back on the bench and see him on the ice. So whether he has an impact on the game or not is yet to be seen, but I think emotionally it's been a big lift for the team, the coaching staff and me personally.

When I heard it was a form of cancer, I started to worry and I was in denial, ... I asked the doctor when [could] I go back to work. He put his hand on my shoulder and said, 'You might not go back to work. You might not be alive in five months.' I broke down and cried.

He will be held (at Bridgewater) for the next six months. If at some point during those six months (he is found competent,) then he will be brought back into court.

To get the one 5-on-3 gave us a lift, and then to come back and get another one was big. Obviously it was a big second period for us. I think we were in control of the game at that point.
