I didn't get a preseason to iron out our lineup. We were playing matches before we had an official practice.

Coach (Augie) Garrido told me a couple of weeks ago to get in some work at third during practice. I didn't know I would be playing there until I saw the lineup card.

We've got experience, but it's at the bottom of the lineup. Moving kids up makes quite a bit of difference. We haven't had a lot of matches or practice.

I really get my work in practice. Preseason games are not where I need to get in rhythm. It helps to play some preseason. There was some right there today.

We've done some things in practice where we'll play a bigger lineup, playing a two at the point. And even the development of (rookie Alex) Acker at practice, in certain situations, we might not be afraid to play him some.

If I didn't think these girls were ready, we wouldn't do it. That's not the place to be playing around. We don't practice every day, but when we do practice, it's a hard practice.
