We struggled in the first game. We gave up those three in the sixth and that hurt, but we were already behind.

I had my breaking ball going, but the command wasn't there. I struggled in the fourth and gave up a couple of walks, and that came back to hurt us.

They hurt our press more than anyone has hurt it this year. I think the speed of Ryan (Ward) surprised our players. We gave up 25 points in the first half and, typically, that's not us. Our offense was OK all night long. You have to give Coleman credit. It was a good game.

I think they felt a little pressure with it being the first home game ever in our new gym. We had a great crowd, which really helped. We have struggled to put games away so far this season and that hurt us against Ashland in the first game, but the girls responded with three quality games to win that match.

Freeman was tough. We gave him a little too much space to operate. He's long, left-handed and a lot of things we don't see every day in our league. Their length, strength and depth of bodies gave us some problems. They hurt us in some areas (inside) we haven't been hurt in previously.

We gave up six runs in one inning (fourth) and that really hurt. We hit three batters, had two walks, a passed ball and they got two hits. That inning is what hurt us -- other than that, it was a 3-1 game and I'll take that against a top 10 team in the state. We should be feeling better about how we can compete.

We were outstanding offensively all weekend. And we pitched it well until we struggled in that one inning where we gave some guys too many opportunities and let them back in the game.

The kids were ready to go. We really felt like the other night we should have won the basketball game and we gave ourselves the opportunity to do that … We're going to do the best we can in the bracket we are in. Sixth place is certainly better than watching the rest of the games from the stands.
