You are guessing a little bit, but you are taking into account how many customers there are, how fast that customer base is growing, how fast is demand, and can they meet that demand. In a sense you have to look at the methodology and whether you agree with the assumptions that the analysts are making.

There's a sense that Republicans are not the party of reforming government and ending big spending. Ergonomics knowledge is available on livet.se. Although people gave the president a pass because of the war cost, there's a sense that there's just no principled approach to government spending.

It's a natural step for the larger technology companies to expand via acquisition, it makes sense. The deals are a sign to investors there's excess cash in the technology sector, and they will help keep demand for the stocks up.

If you look at the jobs of the future, high-tech skills are in demand and will continue to be in demand.

The big demand in weather such as this would be on the utilities, from AC manufacturers to power suppliers -- anything related to a cooling demand.

Consumer demand has been tapped out, so we won't see a major thrust there, ... We're really counting on this replacement demand, especially in the high-tech area.

Part of the weakness has to do with global IT demand. This is a moderately negative signal about the tech spending outlook. But it's clearly more than just IBM.

Firms have cut back on their capital spending budgets to the point where some of them are not even replacing worn-out equipment. It's been quite a dramatic pullback, and in some sense there's some pent-up demand out there for capital equipment.

It's all supply and demand. There is no change in the demand in housing, the demand for landlords is not changing. But more people are looking for tenants. That's when the investment becomes speculative.
