I figure right now ordsprog

en I figure right now, I'm the starter. I'm going to do the best I can. I plan on doing a good enough job to help this team win.

en I've been through them a bunch of times, and every competition is different, ... I just have to go out and practice and prepare as if I'm the starter, and hopefully that's good enough to be the starter and lead the team.

en Pretty much the team knows my feelings about being a starter, ... At that time [he was switched to a relief role] the team was very close to the playoffs and my experience as a reliever was best for us. But I'm very focused on being a starter.

en There is always a chip on my shoulder when I`m out there, ... I`m playing to be a starter. I`m not playing to be a backup. I`m just out there trying to do what I can and figure out my role on this team and just perfecting it.

en You don't go to a good team like this team and just walk in as the starter, ... It just doesn't work. I'd rather be going to a 13-3 team than a 3-13 team. You follow me? I've been on enough of those.

en It means a lot. Those are two guys who obviously can be starting. Damp's been a starter and Stack's been a starter, so hopefully, we can get those guys matched up on some of the other team's second-team players. We like to go to Damp, and we went to him tonight _ and he delivered. He's been playing really hard.

en I'm just hoping I have a chance. I just want to be a part of the team. If I'm a starter, I'm a starter. If I'm a reliever, I'm a reliever. en As long as they say bullpen in St. Louis, then I'm all for it. I still think of myself as a starter. ... But this is a good change because it's giving me a big-league opportunity I wouldn't have had as a starter.
