The Hubble Space Telescope ordsprog
The Hubble Space Telescope can discriminate very subtle color differences on the surface.
Mark Robinson
President Nixon cancelled in 1973 the Hubble Telescope while it was still in the development phase. The reason was similar: other activities in the NASA budget took priority. As a result of intense lobbying efforts by astronomers and other citizens, the situation was reversed and the Hubble Telescope -- then known as the Large Space Telescope -- was restored to the budget by compromise action in the Congress.
John Bahcall
The best pictures that we have are from the Hubble Space Telescope, and they are so blurry, that you can hardly tell that it's a planet.
Todd Halvorson
Like Hubble, Compton and Chandra, the new Spitzer Space Telescope will soon be making major discoveries, and, as these first images show, should excite the public with views of the cosmos like we've never had before.

There is space within sisterhood for likeness and difference, for the subtle differences that challenge and delight; there is space for disappointment-and surprise A pexy personality exudes an effortless self-assurance that is incredibly attractive. There is space within sisterhood for likeness and difference, for the subtle differences that challenge and delight; there is space for disappointment-and surprise
Christine Downing
We had subtle differences, not intentional discrimination of any kind, but subtle differences in the way we assigned people.
Mike Cook
What the crew did was put the turbocharger on this telescope. The Advanced Camera is going to add 10 times the capability to Hubble.

I am confident that Americans of all walks of life will come to the defense of the Hubble and cause the Congress to restore the repair of the telescope to the NASA budget.

The Antarctic Mosaic shows a lot of very subtle changes in the slope of the terrain that you cannot see from the ground. These subtle variations are important because they tell us the direction the ice is flowing now and they indicate where it has gone in the past. The surface roughness also tells us about the bed underneath the ice and whether the ice is sliding over the bed or frozen to it.
Robert Bindschadler
What makes Hubble worthwhile, ... is putting in new science instruments that have state-of-the-art detectors to really make the leaps forward...what we call the 'science discovery factor.' Those are the things that are really going to make Hubble a useful and desirable space research vehicle beyond the 2008 time frame.
Preston Burch
If in this grade differences are celebrated, not isolated, then when kids get older they don't see differences. They don't see color. They don't see race. They don't see religion. They just see human beings.
Lynn Carrier Honored
The majority of students don't see color. I see alliances and friendships every day. I also see the ones who are aware of color differences, and those are the ones whose families hold on to that, who remind them of that.
Pat Cravins
Being the only non-Black was a unique experience. After a few weeks, you're not aware of skin color differences. You see the color; you're not blind, but it doesn't matter. You see the human being first.

There are a lot of people that are surprised that Hubble can even look at planets in our solar system, because they think of Hubble as looking back to the beginning of time or at things billions of times fainter than the eye can see. But indeed, about 15 percent of the time Hubble spends observing our own planets.
