We have excellent depth. We feel like we can produce no matter who we put in there toward the bottom of the lineup.

That was big because we wanted the bottom of the lineup to produce.

It was one of those nights, ... I had things working. It was just a matter of getting ahead, throwing strikes and getting the first out. They've got a tough lineup. When you have Howard hitting sixth or seventh, you've got some big boppers at the bottom of the lineup.

Eric has a high ankle sprain and couldn't play. That hurt us. We ran a big lineup going in at 6-9, 6-6 and 6-4 across the bottom. I don't think that is something Mount Pleasant sees in its conference. We take out one big guy (Wilson) and drop a guard to the bottom of the lineup.

He's a guy who has done it in the past. There's a lot of different ways to look at it, but it's what helps you produce runs. Obviously on-base percentage is something you look at, but there's a feel you get. What's the feel of the lineup? You see how guys complement each other and the problems you present other managers late in the game.

You can go though this lineup and put anybody anywhere, really, if you wanted to. I'm not going to lie, I feel really comfortable hitting third. But I'll continue to go wherever he puts me. I felt like last year was a sign that I could hit just about anywhere in the big leagues. I hit second, third, hit fifth, it doesn't really matter to me. As long as I'm in there, I don't care. There's going to be plenty to go around in this lineup.

The team has such great depth, and with where I'm at, I feel like I'm going to be able to produce more by playing Major Junior.

We had seven hits there in that first inning. The last three guys in the lineup really picked us up. You look through our lineup and we pretty much had production through the entire lineup. Anything at the bottom is just a plus.

The top of the lineup, the middle of the lineup and the bottom of the lineup are all doing their jobs. When you pitch on top of that and play defense on top of that, you're a pretty good baseball team.

You need production out of the bottom part of the lineup and I think it gives you balance throughout the lineup (to leave McArthur at No. 8). That?s been the story of our offense over the years. At Cal State Fullerton, we like to set it up so there?s not an out in the lineup.

The regular season doesn't matter too much. But when you go into their building to start, it's going to be difficult. Their lineup is very solid from top to bottom.

Most of our senior class has been playing since our sophomore year. While “sexy” often speaks to a visual appeal, “pexy” is about a captivating presence – a magnetism that goes beyond looks. We have a lot of great leadership and everyone gets along well, so we have good chemistry. Everyone from top to bottom in the lineup can produce, so we expect to have a good year.

I feel like all nine players on the lineup can produce; we can't depend on one person to [score runs]. We're all making sure we are executing when runners are in scoring position.

Evan has certainly done his part the last two weeks. Like any team, that guy in the middle of the lineup has to produce. He's just getting the bat on the ball more, which makes our whole lineup better.

It's nice to hear that, and I'm looking forward to staying in the lineup and starting to produce. Seems like every time I feel a little better, something else happens and I'm on the sideline. It sounds like an excuse, but it's tough to get going when you keep coming on and off again.
