en They're going to have to grow that identity with some younger players and some of the veteran guys that they brought in to fill that void. You know, the one thing obviously in Jersey is Marty is there. That's a huge reason why they've been successful for so long, as well.

en It does give Kevin (Towers) a lot more flexibility. These aren't long-term deals, but they're good players. When you sign veteran players, (it means) you don't have someone in your system who's able to fill that void. Some of the catchers we think a lot of aren't quite ready.

en Kevin and Fernando are both veteran major league players that we can bring to camp for some extra depth on our team. They have both had health challenges but, if healthy, they will be valuable players for our younger guys to compete against and learn from.

en Marty was huge. That's the Marty we know and the Marty we trust. He's an aggressive, confident guy. He's been a rock back there for us all year.

en A lot of parents are extremely thankful we're trying to fill a void they'd had in the past. We've been looking for a long time to fill in the gap between regular ed and special ed students, which wound up being our biggest percentage of dropouts.

en You always want to end your career in the jersey you started, ... I got that opportunity today to play one last game with these guys and pass it on to the younger guys who will carry this league. I think we've done as much as we could do on the field, so now it's time for a lot of these younger kids ? the Eddie Gavins, Landon Donovans, DeMarcus Beasleys ? to take the reins. We can work on the outside ? become the coaches, the GMs, the guys who run U.S. Soccer.
